Coo-Wee for Ages 55+
When choosing Coo-Wee it’s important to understand how Coo-Wee works and to appreciate what you may encounter when trying Coo-Wee for the first time.
Step one is to know your own anatomy. All women are different and can have varying prior and current issues that are additional to their incontinence.
Also, women over 60 may have gone through menopause and can have symptoms of vaginal atrophy.

What is Vaginal Atrophy?
Vaginal Atrophy is a condition in which the tissues lining the inside of the vagina (birth canal) become thin, dry, and inflamed. This is caused by a decrease in the amount of estrogen (a female hormone) made by the body.
Symptoms can include:
Vaginal dryness
Vaginal burning
Burning with urination
Urgency with urination
Vaginal discharge
Frequent urination
Genital itching
Recurrent urinary tract infection
Given the above symptoms can also cause overall vaginal sensitivities it is important that the correct Coo-Wee is selected for your needs.
For women over 60, we suggest a ‘trial pack’ which comes with three different firmness’s of Coo-Wee.
Using a trial pack will help you to “work up” to the firmest level by starting off with ‘Soft and Easy’. Starting this way will help you understand how the product works with your body and will also help to reduce sensitivity and any possible discomfort.

Additional Considerations
Some women 60 and over may immediately choose ‘On the Run’ as it may be consistent with their incontinence needs. However, there must be some consideration prior to choosing this firmness of Coo-Wee for your first purchase.
Women over 60 may find ‘On the Run’ more difficult to insert due to the forementioned sensitivities so a careful approach is advised.
We also advise to apply a little oestrogen cream several days prior to using Coo-Wee. This can be used in conjunction with a water based personal lubricant to assist with insertion. Best practice for over 60’s is to start with a ‘Soft and Easy’ and then work up to ‘On the Run’.
Another consideration is the size of introitus (vaginal opening). Some women may have a smaller vaginal opening and may have difficulty inserting Coo-Wee. It is important to know your own anatomy prior to purchase to be relatively sure you are able to accommodate and place Coo-Wee effectively.
